PASADENA, CA — The Arroyo Seco Saints (2-1) roll into Tuesday’s game against the Santa Barbara Foresters (3-0) at Jackie Robinson Stadium riding an offensive high, scoring 34 runs in their last three games.
The Saints tallied a season-high 17 runs in their win over the Philippines Baseball Group this past Sunday. The team also posted an astounding 18 hits and only allowed four runs and eight hits.
Sunday night’s offensive standouts were Joey Milto (Transfer Portal) [4-5 6 RBIs], Jack Little (Baylor) [3-5 4 RBIs] and Trotter Enright (Long Beach State) [4-5 3 Rs]. The first five hitters in the Saints’ lineup combined for 15 of their team’s hits and drove in 13 runs.
On the mound, the Saints only needed four pitchers in Sunday night’s victory. Starting pitcher Luke Ballantyne (Biola) went three innings and only allowed two hits. Notable relievers include John Iacono (Biola) and Masen McDonnell (Transfer Portal), striking out three and four hitters, respectively.
The Saints have now put up two complete team wins so far in their young season; the visiting Foresters look to play spoilers on Tuesday night.
Santa Barbara boasts a starting pitching staff who likes to go deep into games, and they do not allow many runs. The Saints have been susceptible to scoring droughts; therefore, the Foresters will aim to keep the Saints’ dominant offense silent.
Offensively, like the Saints, the Foresters have been scorching hot so far this summer, posting 39 total runs in their last three games. Santa Barbara’s two batting average leaders (min. 10 AB), Easton Moomau (UT Rio Grande Valley) and Sawyer Farr (Texas A&M), aim to keep the good times rolling at Jackie Robinson Field.
According to these two teams’ 2025 outcomes and statistics, this game will either be a low-scoring pitcher’s duel or an offensive shootout with plenty of fireworks.
Tonight’s first pitch is at 6:05 p.m. at Jackie Robinson Field and will surely be one to track carefully.
