PASADENA, CA – The Arroyo Seco Saints (10-9) and the Santa Barbara Foresters (15-6) look to hit the diamond following a Fourth of July Friday. But today, fans get treated to some extra baseball before the scheduled game starts.
Back on Tuesday, June 10th, the Saints and Foresters met for the first time in the summer season. However, the game was forced to be stopped due to the game going over the time limit at Jackie Robinson Field. The game would then resume play the next time the two teams matched up against each other.
The game stopped at the bottom of the 7th inning with the Saints leading the game with a score of 12-8. That previous game will resume in the 8th inning and play until the winner is decided.
How it works is that the same players in that first lineup must play and finish the game. Along with not using the pitchers that were taken out of the game. The game will resume at 4 p.m.
After the first game finishes, the Saints and the Foresters will play their scheduled game at 6:05 p.m.
Coming into the game, the Saints held a three-game winning streak before going on a three-game road trip to San Luis Obispo the face off against the Blues. The Saints’ winning streak would do a complete 180 as they would drop all three games.
The Saints dropped the first game in extra innings with a score of 10-9. But they would lose their next games 4-1 and 9-5.
On the other hand, the Foresters are riding a losing streak of their own by dropping their last two games, after having a four-game winning streak.
The Foresters lost to the Orange County Riptide 7-3 and the MLB Academy Barons 3-0.
Coming in today, either team is looking to win that first “mini” game to carry momentum into the scheduled game to get the winning ways back on their side.
Once again, the resumed game will start at 4 p.m., and the scheduled game will start at 6:05 p.m., with both games being played at Jackie Robinson Field.
