PASADENA, CA – After a three-game road trip against the San Luis Obispo, and a two-game series against the Santa Barbara Foresters, the Arroyo Seco Saints (11-11) are looking to get back to their winning ways against the San Diego Bombers (3-9 CCL).
The Saints are coming into the game after losing to the Foresters in extra innings on Sunday, July 6th. The Saints would hold multiple leads in the game, but not be able to find the dagger run, as Santa Barbara would win in 12 innings with a final score of 8-7.
The Saints would see some bright spots in their loss, as five of their nine starters were able to record an RBI in the game. Starting pitcher Zach Erdman (portal) had six strikeouts, and Joey Milto (portal) had a two-run homerun.
The last time the Saints won a game was back on June 29th against the MLB Academy Barons. They won the game 10-6, led by Trotter Enright (Cal State Long Beach) with two hits and two RBIs.
With the Bombers, the last time they played in the California Collegiate League, it was against the Orange County Riptide back on Thursday, July 3rd. They would win the game 6-2, scoring five of their six runs in the first two innings.
The last meeting between these two teams was earlier in the season on June 11th. The Saints won that game with a score of 7-4, led by a two RBI day by Milto
The Saints are looking for a win to keep their playoff hopes alive as they currently sit at a .500-win percentage. The first pitch at Jackie Robinson Field is set for 6:05 p.m. time slot.
