PASADENA, CA – With playoffs coming in the near future for the California Collegiate League, teams are looking to spark a little fire under their belts entering the postseason.
Currently, the CCL standings have the Orange County Riptide ranked 3rd and the Arroyo Seco Saints at 4th. But with the Santa Barbara Foresters playing in a different postseason, another team gets the third spot in the CCL South. Meaning, the Riptide, Saints, and Conejo Oaks are looking to make a run for the title.
But the Saints and Riptide are having different versions of the recent games of the 2025 summer season.
The Orange County Riptide are currently riding a seven-game win streak. Outscoring their opponents 48 to19.
The Riptide’s last loss coming against the San Diego Bombers, back on July 3rd. The final score of the game was 6-2, with the Bombers getting five of their six runs in the first two innings.
In Riptide’s last game, they played the MLB Academy Barons back on Sunday, July 13th. They won the game 5-0, with a four-hit game from Bradley Navarro.
For the Saints, they currently are on a four-game losing streak. With three of their four losses coming against the Oaks. The final loss was against the San Diego Waves.
Arroyo Seco’s last win came against the San Francisco Seagulls in a 9-8 victory back on July 9th. The Saints would get to an early 9-1 lead, but the Seagulls would make it a close by scoring seven in the top of the 8th inning.
The last time these two played was all the way back on June 14th. The Riptide would win that matchup 9-4, due to a five-run effort in the bottom of the 8th.
But the season series currently sit at one win apiece. The Saints won the first game with a final score of 11-4.
With a playoff wildcard matchup in the potential future, these teams will look to get acquainted with each other quickly. Do so by playing tonight at 6:05 p.m. at Jackie Robinson Field.
