Saints look to bounce back quickly against the Oaks

PASADENA, CA – The Arroyo Seco Saints (13-12) are looking to bounce back quickly at Jackie Robinson Field for a matchup against the Conejo Oaks (17-9).

After holding a two-game winning streak, the Saints are currently on a one-game losing streak after their game on Friday, July 11th, against the San Diego Waves.

Even though Saints’ Lane Haworth earned his second homerun of the season, his second in back-to-back games. The Saints lost the game 11-7, due to allowing three separate homeruns throughout the game.

For the Oaks, they too are on a one-game losing streak, following winning their last four games. In those four games, the Oaks outscored their opponent 34-13.

The Oaks lost their last game on Friday, July 11th, to the division leader, Santa Barbara Foresters. That was a game tight throughout the nine innings, but the Foresters would walk it off in the ninth, from the bat of Terrance Kiel.

The season matchup between the Saints and Oaks has Conejo leading the series. The Oaks have three wins and one loss to the Saints and have outscored them 25-18 in the games.

The Saints’ only win against Conejo came back on June 17th, when the Arroyo Seco blanked the Oaks in an 8-0 decision. But in the last game these two teams faced off in, the Oaks would win in a high-scoring 10-7 game.

The Oaks were able to have two separate innings where they scored three runs, making it hard for the Saints to stay consistently in the game.

These teams will battle it out for the fifth time this season before heading out to Thousand Oaks for a rematch. But the first pitch in this game will be at 6:05 p.m.
