Saints looking to keep offense fire alive against the Waves

PASADENA, CA – The Arroyo Seco Saints (8-6) play host to the San Diego Waves (8-9) on Saturday, June 28 in attempt to avenge their season opening loss back in early June.
The Waves won the game with a final score of 12-9 in an effort to keep their undefeated record alive at 3-0. Since that game, the Waves have been struggling to stay consistent with their wins as they would lose 10 of their next 15 games.
In their previous game, the Waves lost their last game in a close game to North County United with a score of 8-7 back on Thursday, June 26.
With the Saints however, they snapped a two-game losing streak, with both losses to the Conejo Oaks, last night against the MLB Academy Barons. Eight out of the nine starters for the Saints recorded an RBI on the night, making the final score 12-3
But the highlight of the game was Joey Milto (Transfer Portal) getting his second home run of the season with a solo home run in the fourth inning.
Going back to their first matchup, offense would not be a problem for either team. Both teams scored nine plus runs, but it would be magic in the ninth inning for the Waves to put them ahead.
The Saints would look to close out the game in ninth being ahead 7-6, but a flurry of six runs scored by the Waves would give them the win in the long run.
For today’s game, Milto stated after the win against the Barons that the game plan for the Waves would be to score early and often in order to keep the game out of reach.
And the head coach for the Saints, Aaron Milam, said after their loss to the Waves earlier in the season that his team has to be more confident with their pitches; some bad pitches bit the Saints in their previous loss to the Waves.
That game plan and mindset will be on the Saints mind as they try to avenge their early-season loss and start another win streak. First pitch at Jackie Robinson Field will be at 6:05 p.m.
