Saints looking to keep winning streak alive against Waves

PASADENA, CA – The Arroyo Seco Saints (13-11) play host to the San Diego Waves for the third time this season against the San Diego Waves (14-15).
These two teams first played on Saints’ opening day with a high-scoring effort from both teams, with the Waves edging out a 12-9 victory.
Later in the season, another high-scoring game happened between these two teams, with the Saints getting their revenge in grabbing a 10-9 win.
The Saints are currently on a two-game winning streak to keep their playoff hopes alive. They were able to escape a late comeback effort by the San Francisco Seagulls, to sneak out with a 9-8 win on Wednesday, July 9th. And on Tuesday, July 8th, the Saints were able to beat the San Diego Bombers 7-4.
For the Saints, their offense has been clicking, getting a homerun from Joey Mitlo (transfer) against the Bombers and getting one from Lane Haworth (transfer) in their last game against the Seagulls.
The Saints’ problem, however, has been not being able to finish games. Having costly errors and some inconsistent pitching has cost them some games and kept their opponents in the fight.
On the other side of the aisle, the Waves are currently on a two-game losing streak. The Waves lost to the Orange County Riptide 6-0 on Wednesday and lost on Thursday to the San Diego Stars 9-6.
In today’s game, the Waves are also going to be playing their fifth straight game, while the Saints are playing after having the day off yesterday. The first pitch of the game at Jackie Robinson Field will be at 6:05 p.m.
