Saints Look to Start off Strong
The Arroyo Seco Saints are back for another day at Jackie Robinson Field to face the San Diego Bombers on June 23.
PASADENA, CA - The Arroyo Seco Saints (4-9) are back at Jackie Robinson Field to face the San Diego Bombers (1-7) on June 23.
The last time these two teams faced off, the Saints gained their second win of the season, beating the Bombers 16-9. Since then, the Saints have dropped in the standings to 6th in the South Division with the Bombers behind them.
To contribute to their performance against the Bombers during their first match up, Brayden Flores (Loyola Marymount University) led the team in RBIs adding up 6 during his performance.
Flores is still among the RBI leaders in the California Collegiate League, tied for third with San Luis Obispo Blues' CJ Moran with 15.
During their game against the Conejo Oaks, the Saints got extremely close on closing in on their fifth win of the season. Although they were able to regain the lead in the eighth inning, they were unable to hang on to the lead and come back in the ninth.
Zach Leite (Old Dominion University) and Canon King (Undecided) both contributed to the Saints' performance against the Oaks.
Leite reached base five times, with 2 RBI singles and three walks, while King hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning.
In an attempt to bounce back and snap their three game losing streak, the Saints look to start this game off strong, gaining good momentum before their big road trip to San Luis Obispo.
Game time is set for 5:35 p.m. and is available to stream on the Arroyo Seco Saints YouTube channel.
