Saints Look to Take Series Against Blues
The Arroyo Seco Saints are heading out for their last game of the series against the San Luis Obispo Blues.
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA - The Arroyo Seco Saints (6-11) are heading out for their last game of the series against the San Luis Obispo Blues (18-5).
After evening the series, the Saints are looking to take home the final win, and carry the momentum into this upcoming week.
With the All-Star break quickly approaching, the Saints' goal is to get as many wins as possible. The Saints have dropped to 6th in the Southern Division of the California Collegiate League nearing the second half of the season.
During last night's game, the Saints were able to win as a team. Stringing along hits and building off of each other's momentum was the foundation for their win.
Owen Mangini (University of Nevada - Reno) broke the scoring open at the top of the second inning with a home run, scoring Canon King (Undecided) to give the Saints the lead.
The Saints would hold on to this lead with the help of Joe O'Regan (Undecided) and Hudson Carvalho (University of Oregon).
The Saints fielding was also key in their victory, keeping the bases clear and getting out of innings clean.
Today, the Saints look to maintain their hot bats and dominant pitching to take the final game of the series.
First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. PDT and available to stream on the Arroyo Seco Saints YouTube channel.
