Saints Look to Stay hot in July
The Arroyo Seco Saints are looking to continue their hot streak tonight against the OC Riptide.
IRVINE, CA - The Arroyo Seco Saints (14-17) are looking to continue their hot streak tonight against the OC Riptide (23-14).
On Sunday, the Saints battled against the Conejo Oaks (18-12), whom they have been dominant against, winning three of their last four match ups.
Canon King (Undecided) who now leads the California Collegiate League in home runs with 6, gave the Saints the lead in the second inning. Evan Reiter (Santa Ana College) extended the Saints lead with another solo shot in the fourth to make it 2-0.
The Saints went on to win that game 5-3.
King was named hitter of the week for the CCL with a batting average of .545, 4 RBIs and 2 home runs.
The Saints pitch has also been lights out, getting their first two shut outs of the season last week.
Joe O'Regan (University of Nevada - Reno) was also highlighted by the CCL this week, being named pitcher of the week with a 0 ERA, 6 innings pitched and 5 strikeouts.
O'Regan also shared that tonight's game against the Riptide will be crucial in the upcoming schedule.
The Saints last game against the Riptide was played at Great Park with Dylan Hoang (Villanova University) earning the team's win; 8-3.
Tonight's game will also be a big stepping stone for the Saints' playoff hopes being only two wins behind the Academy Barons (16-13).
