Saints aim to bounce back against Riptide
The Arroyo Seco Saints (14-18) enter their second straight matchup against the Orange County Riptide (24-14), hoping to come out on top in the latter.
On Tuesday night, the Saints fell to the Riptide 5-4, breaking their two-game winning streak on the road in Orange County.
The Saints took a 4-1 lead into the sixth, but were unable to hold it, with the Riptide scoring three in the frame and then taking the lead in the eighth.
Although the Saints lost Tuesday, they have been on a hot streak following the All-Star break. They've won seven of their last ten games, and the starting pitching has been the standout, giving the team much-needed length and quality.
As the page turns to Wednesday night, the Saints turn to their ace, Joe O'Regan (University of Nevada, Reno), who has consistently delivered quality when the Saints have needed it most.
The Saints' lone All-Star from the mound and reining CCL pitcher of the week, he sports an ERA under three and has the most innings pitched on the club.
Today's game against the Orange County Riptide is a must-win for the Saints if they want to remain in playoff position, with their star on the mound.
First pitch is at 5:35 at Jackie Robinson Memorial Field, and the broadcast can be found on the Arroyo Seco Saints YouTube channel.
